O documentário Alpi de Armin Linke, fotógrafo e cineasta que combina uma série de tecnologias contemporâneas de processamento de imagem para esbater a fronteira entre ficção e realidade, lança o repto para a primeira apresentação em Portugal de How Heavy is a City?, a investigação conduzida desde finais de 2022 pela dupla britânica Territorial Agency para a 7.ª edição da Trienal de Lisboa.

Após a exibição do filme, a curadoria da Trienal 2025 junta-se a Armin Linke para uma conversa que vai revelar as três principais linhas da investigação que moldam o programa do fórum internacional (2 de Outubro a 8 de Dezembro de 2025). Quão pesada é uma cidade? é o ponto de partida para pensar o complexo conjunto de transformações contemporâneas da cidade e do seu contexto, revelando uma nova figura emergente com uma magnitude planetária. A 7ª edição da Trienal explora formas emergentes de cooperação e mutualidade, estabelecendo uma nova unidade para avaliar a arquitectura e reformular o seu papel enquanto motor de debate.

The investigation for How Heavy is a City? which entitles the 7th edition of the Lisbon Triennale has been underway since the end of 2022. Curated by Territorial Agency, the three main lines of research shaping the upcoming Triennale 2025 are presented in Lisbon, starting with the screening of Alpi, a documentary film made by photographer and artist Armin Linke in 2011.

Alpi is the result of seven years of research of Piero Zanini, Renato Rinaldi and Armin Linke on contemporary perceptions of the landscape of the Alps, juxtaposing places and situations across all eight bordering nations and spanning the territories of four languages. In the film, the Alps are encountered like an island that is connected to various global transformations. We undertook many journeys in the alpine region, which, ironically, led us as far as Dubai. The film shows the Alps as a key location, owing to its delicacy and environmental importance, where one can observe and study the complexity of social, economic, and political relationships.
